How Much Will I Pay?
Benefit Comparison between INF Elite and an Acute On-set Plan
Most travel medical insurance plans do not provide coverage for pre-existing conditions, and instead only cover new and unexpected medical situations. However, INF Elite can provide coverage for travelers with any pre-existing medical condition including heart conditions, diabetes and cancer. Below is a comparison of how the INF Elite plan would work, versus a regular acute onset plan, in the event of a heart-related medical incident which requires surgery, a hospital stay and follow-up care.

Example: Medical Bill Owed by Insured
The insured is a 70 year-old heart patient traveling to Atlanta to visit their daughter for 6 months. During a family outing, the insured begins to feel ill and is taken to an In-Network emergency room where they are treated for a minor heart issue and head injury. The insured stays in the hospital for 6 days, with 3 in the Intensive Care Unit. After numerous heart scans, they are finally discharged.
Following this episode, the insured visits several doctors regarding the same incident a month later and prescribed medication to help them manage. The family is then presented with a bill for $39,042 for the entire incident, including the hospitalization and out-patient after care. Luckily, the insured’s daughter purchased the INF Elite Network Plan. Here’s how the cost would break down for their bill, if they went with INF Elite or an Acute Onset plan.
